Search Project Postal in the server browser. Filter by region if needed. The server runs 24/7 with automatic restarts at set intervals.
Spawn in a low-traffic area if you're new. The east coast towns tend to be quieter early on. Avoid high-loot military zones until you're geared.
Find food, water, and a basic weapon before nightfall. Canned goods, bandages, and a knife or firearm should be your first priority. Loot houses, sheds, and small outposts.
Even a basic 1x1 lockbox protects your first stash. Don't store everything on your character β you will get killed.
Joining DHL, UPS, or FEDEX gives you shop discounts, a team to play with, and progression through zone events. See the Factions section below.
Most server coordination, events, and announcements happen in our Discord. It's where you'll find teammates, trade, and report issues.
Project Postal has three competing factions: DHL, UPS, and FEDEX. Factions compete for control of POIs (Points of Interest) across the map. The winning faction earns a shop discount applied to all members.
| Faction | Theme | Playstyle | Perk |
|---|---|---|---|
| π¦ DHL | Yellow / Ground | Aggressive territory control | Shop discount based on POIs held |
| π UPS | Purple / Tactical | Zone defense and holding | Shop discount based on POIs held |
| βοΈ FEDEX | Blue / Fast | Hit-and-run, quick capture | Shop discount based on POIs held |
Use the #faction-signup channel in Discord. Once assigned, your faction tag appears in-game and you gain access to faction chat.
Zone events happen periodically across the map. Capturing a zone earns your faction a Zone Win and increases your POI count. High-value zones are heavily contested β coordinate with your faction before engaging.
Coins are earned by killing players, completing events, selling loot to the in-game trader, and participating in zone captures.
Use the Discord bot shop (#bot-shop) to buy gear, ammo, food, and special items. Faction discounts apply automatically.
Founder packs give you bonus coins, cosmetic items, and priority queue access. Check the Shop tab on the main page.
Your kills and K/D ratio are tracked on the site leaderboard. High performers gain community recognition and event priority.
When you die, all items on your character can be looted. Stash valuables in a secure base before heading into contested areas. Travel light when scouting.
Base raiding is allowed during designated raid hours. Check the rules page for current raid window times. Raiding outside these hours is a bannable offense.
Bolt-action rifles dominate at range. Learn bullet drop β 100m+ shots require aim adjustment. Check the Tools page for a ballistics calculator.
Crouch while moving in the open. Use prone for long-range engagements. Stamina management is critical β don't sprint into a fight with empty stamina.
Bandages stop bleeding. Use medkits to restore HP. Broken bones require splints. Always carry at least two bandages when leaving your base.
Build away from roads and common patrol routes. Forests and hills provide natural cover. Avoid building directly on POI land β these can be recaptured in events and your base may be in the way.
Start with a lockbox and single-room shelter. Progress to a fortified compound as you gather resources. Metal walls, barbed wire, and a code lock are your best early investments.
Mines can be placed to defend your base perimeter. There are limits on how many you can place β see the rules for current mine limits. Mines placed in public roads or spawn areas are not allowed.
POIs, military zones, and trader locations repeat. Memorize high-value loot spots early β they're contested for a reason.
Solo play is hard early on. Join your faction's voice chat and coordinate. A squad of 2-3 players is far more survivable than going alone.
Footsteps, gunshots, and vehicle engines carry far in SCUM. Use headphones and listen before entering buildings or open areas.
Don't keep all your loot in one base. Small hidden caches around the map ensure you always have something to fall back on after a wipe.
Night time reduces visibility for defenders. If you're planning a raid, consider timing it after dark with night vision equipment.
Ignorance is not a defense. A quick read of the rules saves you from accidental bans. Takes less than 5 minutes.
